GSDL-WDG Rules 2012

Preliminary Notes:
i. The ‘German Shepherd Dog League – Working Dog Group' shall be referred to as the ‘GSDL-WDG'.
ii. The ‘GSDL-WDG National Executive Committee' will be referred to as ‘the GSDL-WDG Committee'.
A. Mission Statement and Declaration
A1. The GSDL-WDG's principle aim is the training and testing of German Shepherd Dogs to the requirements of the WUSV breed standard. It is a primary goal of the GSDL-WDG to promote healthy German Shepherd Dogs with correct working temperaments. Another aim is the promotion of schutzhund / VPG dog sport in Great Britain ; therefore other breeds are also invited to attain qualifications and compete in relevant competitions.
A2. Although the GSDL-WDG is self-governing and free to form its own rules and regulations, no rule or regulation should contradict or compromise the Rules and Regulations of the German Shepherd Dog League of Great Britain.
B. General
B1. It is the primary objective of the GSDL-WDG to ensure that training, events and competition are conducted with the maximum safety to all persons concerned. Failure to comply with any of the safety rules may result in immediate suspension pending disciplinary action. (See disciplinary code)
B2. GSDL-WDG Branch Clubs are free to form their own constitution and rules, however no item or rule should contradict or compromise the Rules of the German Shepherd Dog League of Great Britain or the Rules of the GSDL-WDG. Failure to comply may result in immediate suspension pending disciplinary action. (See disciplinary code)
B4. The Committee of the GSDL-WDG shall be made up of 9 people to be elected annually on a rotational basis at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the GSDL-WDG (See section D).
B5. The GSDL-WDG AGM will be held during the month of February each year and any agenda items must be received at least 21 days before the AGM date by the General Secretary and the agenda issued to each of the affiliated GSDL-WDG Branch Club secretaries and posted on the GSDL-WDG website at least 14 days before the AGM date. All agenda items must be detailed, proposed and seconded by current GSDL-WDG members.
B6. Only GSDL-WDG members with a full membership (see section C4), who are fully paid up by the 31st of December will be entitled to vote on matters presented at the AGM.
C. Membership
C1. Application for and renewal of membership to the GSDL-WDG will be in ALL cases through an affiliated GSDL-WDG Branch Club, with the appropriate completed application form and payments forwarded to the GSDL-WDG Membership Secretary.
C2. New members must obtain final approval of membership from two members of the GSDL-WDG Committee.
C3. Memberships may be refused when the GSDL-WDG Committee feel that membership of an individual may not be in the best interests of the GSDL-WDG.
C4. There are four (4) types of membership available.
• Single membership entitling the member to vote at the annual meeting.
• Family membership entitling one of the members to vote at the annual meeting (up to four family members with the children's maximum age 18), the person casting the vote must be at least 16.
• Joint membership entitling two votes at the annual meeting.
• Single OAP membership entitling the member to vote at the annual meeting
C5. Membership subscription shall be as follows:
• Single membership - £45
• Joint membership - £56
• Family membership - £60
• OAP membership - £40
D. GSDL-WDG Committee
D1. The GSDL-WDG Committee shall manage the day to day affairs of the GSDL-WDG, and shall comprise of nine GSDL-WDG members and be voted for on a rotation basis (three members stepping down each year and offering themselves for re-election if they so wish).
• A maximum of 2 members from any one club can be on the National Committee at the same time.
D2. Voting for the GSDL-WDG Committee shall take place at the Annual General Meeting of the GSDL-WDG.
D3. On completion of voting the following Officers shall be appointed from within and by the elected GSDL-WDG Committee:
- Chairman
- Vice Chairman
- General Secretary
- Treasurer
- Membership Secretary
D4. The GSDL-WDG Committee shall have the right to appoint non executive members to fulfil specific roles on an as and when required basis.
D5. The GSDL-WDG Committee will meet at least twice a year at properly convened meetings with a detailed agenda for which items will need to be received by the General Secretary at least 14 days prior to the agreed meeting dates. Extraordinary Committee Meetings will be held when considered necessary by a majority of Committee members.
D6. Anyone seeking election for a vacant position on the GSDL-WDG Committee must have been a GSDL-WDG member for three years consecutively and be proposed and seconded by current GSDL-WDG members.
D7. Voting for the vacant GSDL-WDG Committee positions will be by secret ballot.
• Members may vote for between one (1) and up to and including the number of vacant committee positions (usually 3).
D8. The duties of the GSDL-WDG Committee shall be to manage the GSDL-WDG's affairs at GSDL-WDG and Club level properly and diligently. Without prejudice to these duties, they should be mindful of the following:
• The property of the GSDL-WDG shall be vested in the Executive Committee and property at Branch Club level shall be vested in the Club Committee.
• The GSDL-WDG Committee may appoint such of its members as it from time to time thinks fit to constitute a Sub-Committee(s) or Working Party(s) to exercise such of the powers of the GSDL-WDG Committee may decide.
• The GSDL-WDG Committee in respect of National events and the Branch Club Committee in respect of Branch Club events shall decide upon the value and nature of prizes to be offered at competitions or club events and may make regulations for their conduct according to any applicable WUSV or GSDL regulation.
• The GSDL-WDG Committee shall prepare and/or review at regular intervals of not more than twelve months, a list of persons who are official representatives of the GSDL-WDG Committee, Club Committees, Sub-Committees and also approved Judges, Helpers and Tracklayers.
• The GSDL-WDG Committee will allocate an agreed sum of money to the organising Clubs of the National, International, and WUSV / FCI qualification events. Any shortfall/profit made by the organising Branch Club shall be borne by that Club.
E. GSDL-WDG Branch Club Affiliation
E1. New Branch Club Affiliation Proposals
E1a. If four or more fully paid up members of the GSDL-WDG wish to form a GSDL-WDG Branch Club, they must seek approval from the GSDL-WDG Committee. Initial application shall be in writing using the appropriate club affiliation form to the GSDL-WDG General Secretary, in order that it may be included on the next GSDL-WDG Committee meeting agenda. The application MUST include:
- The proposed name of the club.
- The details of the officers (chairman, secretary, treasurer and club trainer)
NOTE: The proposed club trainer should be sufficiently experienced in the training of at least two disciplines within Schutzhund.
- The location of the training ground, training times and any equipment.
- Give an undertaking to abide by the Rules of the GSDL-WDG, GSDL, as well as Kennel Club regulations.
- Provide contact details (i.e. Telephone number, address and e-mail address)
E1b. Upon approval by the GSDL-WDG Committee, the new Club will be subject to a six month probationary period. The Affiliation Fee must be paid immediately, together with the Affiliation application form. Following a 12 month period the club shall be reviewed to assess its growth and its general performance.
E1c. Upon approval by the GSDL-WDG Committee, the new Club must complete the required Kennel Club Branch Club registration form. The form shall be supplied by and must be returned to the GSDL-WDG General Secretary who shall forward it to the Kennel Club for approval.
E1d. During the probationary period the Branch Club will be visited by a GSDL-WDG judge or apprentice judge / committee member, and a report submitted to the GSDL-WDG Committee from which the decision will be made regarding final acceptance of the Branch Club. The visiting judge / apprentice judge / committee member shall claim reasonable expenses from the club for the visit.
E1e . New clubs will not be permitted to hold trials during their probationary period.
E1f. The first trial that the new Branch Club holds MUST be judged by a GSDL-WDG judge.
E2. GSDL-WDG Branch Club Affiliation - General
E2a. It is strongly recommended that each GSDL-WDG Branch Club should hold at least one event / trial per annum with a GSDL-WDG judge.
E2b. Renewal of Affiliation is on an annual basis. The Affiliation application and required fees MUST be tendered by 31st December of each year. The amount of the affiliation fee to be decided at the previous AGM.
F. Training
F1. Each GSDL-WDG Branch Club shall appoint at least one Club Trainer to be responsible for the training activities conducted by that GSDL-WDG Branch Club. Each individual GSDL-WDG Branch Club may determine how to make such appointment. Final approval will be a matter for the GSDL-WDG Committee and they may require any person to satisfy them that he/she is sufficiently responsible to oversee protection training.
F2. Before dogs are allowed to participate or train in any aspect of the Sport, they must be of good physical fitness and free from infectious diseases. Dogs must be approved by the relevant Club Trainer as being suitable for the sport.
F3. Only fully paid-up GSDL-WDG Members are entitled to train their dog(s) at GSDL-WDG Branch Clubs.
F4. It is ultimately the responsibility of the handler to ensure that the dog remains fit, healthy and free from any ailments or infectious diseases.
F5. It is recommended that all dogs have the hips and elbows X-rayed and scored by the British Veterinary Association (BVA) or WUSV Member equivalent.
F6. All members must agree as a condition of membership to comply with the directives of the relevant Club Trainer during the training of protection work. It is the responsibility of the Club Trainers to ensure that all participants' working dogs show a suitable commitment to all three phases of the sport.
F7. Protection training should only be carried out on private property where the general public can reasonably be denied access.
F8. It is the responsibility of the officers of the GSDL-WDG Branch Club and, in particular, the trainers and helpers of the GSDL-WDG Branch Club, to ensure that the correct equipment is used and that protective clothing, where applicable, is worn throughout training. This will specifically include suitable protection for Helpers training the protection phase of Schutzhund as well as use of the competition type sleeve fitted with a bite-bar
G. Judges
G1. Applicants to become GSDL-WDG Apprentice Judges must meet the following qualifying criteria :
- A minimum of three years consecutive membership of the GSDL-WDG (Former membership of the BSA will count towards this period).
- Shall have trained and qualified one dog from BH to Schutzhund 3 and another dog from BH to Schutzhund 1
G2. If the Apprentice Judge application is accepted by the GSDL-WDG Committee, the Apprentice Judge will be required to carry out the following:
- A minimum of five (5) apprenticeships under the supervision of foreign judges from any internationally recognised association,
- A minimum of three (3) apprenticeships under GSDL WDG Judges.
- A minimum of fifty (50) dogs shall be judged. BH entries do not count towards this total.
- Final apprenticeship must be with an approved WUSV Teaching Judge with that judge confirming to the GSDL-WDG Committee the suitability or otherwise of that Apprentice Judge
G3. Maintenance of Judging practice is paramount and any judge not officiating at a trial for two calendar years shall be required to carry out a further apprenticeship with an approved WUSV teaching judge (with the report submitted to the GSDL-WDG Committee) in order to maintain active status on the Judges list.
G4. Non renewal of membership to the GSDL-WDG will preclude entry on the active Judges list.
G5. Maintenance of the active Judges list will be by the Events Co-ordinator who will inform the Webmaster for inclusion onto the GSDL-WDG website.
G6. It is recommended that the GSDL-WDG Judges and Apprentice Judges set up a Judges Panel to meet annually in order to discuss rule changes etc. to be passed down to the membership. A Chairperson to be appointed annually.
H. Helpers and Tracklayers
H1. Qualification as a helper is possible at the following events
• The annual helper licensing event
• Any major trial (i.e. qualifier / nationals), in this case prior arrangements must be made with the trial secretary and the Events co-ordinator or Helper co-ordinator in good time
In both cases the applicant must:
- Be at least 16 years of age
- Work with minimum two dogs (can be provided by the applicants own club), one of which must be capable of a SchH3 round
- Complete a simple fitness test and answer questions on the helper rules
- Prove membership of the GSDL-WDG
The minimum assessors to be in both cases:
- Two fully qualified Judges (GSDL-WDG)
H2. Maintenance of the helper licence.
All helpers must attend the helper licensing event at least every 3 years to maintain their licence.
In the interim period the helper license will be maintained as follows:
During a trial the judge will evaluate performance by a pre agreed method and submit the report to the Events Co-ordinator or Helper co-ordinator where subject to satisfactory performance licensing will be upheld. If the evaluation is less than satisfactory the helper will be asked to attend the next licensing event where he will be reassessed, in the meantime the helper will be suspended from the helper list.
H3 . 'A' grade helpers.
Helpers who wish to be considered for selection for the Nationals or the following years WUSV / FCI qualification trials, must attend the annual helper licensing event.
To be considered for the following seasons major trials helpers must:
- Attend the licensing event and work dogs they do not train on a regular basis
- Complete a fitness test and answer questions on the helper rules
- Show proof of working at least 10 dogs at club trials
H4. Inclusion on the 'A' grade helper list will be for one (1) year only, as it is important that these helpers are both fit, capable and wanting to participate in the major trials of the coming season.
H5. From the helpers attending the helper licensing event, a pool of a 'A' grade helpers will be selected by the judges / apprentice judges ( at least two fully qualified judges must be in attendance) . These helpers can be used for the following years WUSV / FCI qualification trials.
H6. The helpers for the Nationals and the following seasons WUSV / FCI qualifiers will be picked at the annual licensing by the assessors.
H7. Helpers must be at least 18 years of age in order to participate in a major trial.
H8. The GSDL-WDG committee will have the final decision in the case of any necessary changes to the helpers picked for the major events.
H9. All helpers who wish to participate in the training and/or licensing must bring with them at least one dog which can be used.
Tracklayer Licensing
Licensing is defined as two separate grades.
H7. Grade A
Must have laid a minimum of 10 SchH3 tracks at club trial events and received a recommendation from a GSDL-WDG judge to be upgraded from B to A
H8. Grade B
Must with a written application from their club, contact a GSDL-WDG judge and arrange to be licensed. This can be done at a club, trial or a prearranged meeting.
They will then lay a number of SchH3 tracks overseen by the GSDL-WDG judge and then re-walk the track with the judge indicating corners and articles were appropriate.
The club must then advise the National Events Coordinator of the grading and the member be added to the association's tracklayer list.
H9. Tracklayers' minimum age limits to be:
- Grade 'A' – 18 years.
- Grade 'B' – 14 years.
J. CLUB TRIALS
J1. GSDL-WDG trials must be held in compliance with WUSV/FCI and GSDL-WDG rules.
J2. Before dogs are allowed to participate or train in any aspect of the Sport, they must be of good physical fitness and free from infectious ailments, be approved by the relevant Club Trainer as being suitable for the sport. The handler must be a member of a recognized SCH / VPG association and provide evidence of same, in instances of participants taking part who are not members of the GSDL-WDG, a 50% premium on top of the advertised entry fee may be charged.
J3. Dogs entered for competition MUST be tattooed or micro-chipped (it will be the owner/handlers responsibility to provide a suitable microchip scanner in this instance). It is the Trial Manager's responsibility to ensure compliance.
J4. Training on the Trials Helpers on the Trials field during the period of the Trial is at the discretion of the Trials Manager or the Judge.
J5. Training on the Trials field at ALL events will be controlled by the Trials Manager and dogs will be allowed only with a loose fitting chain collar.
J6. Only fully paid up members (see rule C4) of the GSDL-WDG or member of any other WUSV/FCI member club will be eligible to enter GSDL-WDG trials. It is not necessary for spectators at Trials or Seminars to be members of the GSD League of Great Britain.
J7. Non GSDL-WDG handlers may enter although they may be subject to an entry fee increased by 50% of the advertised entry fee.
J8. Helpers must not wear hats when working in Trials.
J9. Helpers must not wear metal studded footwear when working in Trials.
J10. Only GSDL-WDG licensed Helpers or foreign Helpers who are qualified by experience or qualification from a SchH / VPG organisation shall be used at any trial with their respective status recognised.
J11. Only GSDL-WDG licensed Tracklayers or foreign Tracklayers who are qualified by experience or qualification from a SchH / VPG organisation shall be used at any trial with their respective status recognised.
J12. The GSDL-WDG Events Co-ordinator shall be responsible for confirming the current status of all visiting foreign Judges and helpers before they are allowed to participate in GSDL-WDG Trials.
J13. Prior to the Trial start time and in order to comply with the WUSV regulations, handlers must present all relevant documents (i.e. GSD League of Great Britain Performance Record book or equivalent from any other WUSV/FCI member club) to the Trial Secretary.
J14. GSDL-WDG members, who are owners of imported dogs and wishing to compete in any GSDL-WDG trial, must first acquire and present a GSDL Performance Record Book.
J15. The current WUSV/FCI policy of interchanging their respective working qualifications; i.e. that a dog that has qualified IPO 1 can compete directly in Schutzhund 2 etc and vice versa, shall be honoured.
J16. Any GSDL-WDG Branch Club hosting a Club event will have the right to refuse entry to any individual in accordance with KC RULE 42.
J17. The hosting club must notify all other clubs secretaries by either mail or email of the upcoming trial at least 28 days prior to the closing date.
K. GSDL-WDG Championships .
K1. The GSDL-WDG Championship event is to be held on the 3rd week in October whenever possible and will be restricted to German Shepherd Dogs. This Championship trial is open to GSDL-WDG members ONLY.
K2. The selection of the Judge shall be the responsibility of the GSDL-WDG Committee.
K3. The venue for the event should be a stadium of the correct size and capability in an area considered by the GSDL-WDG Committee to be central to the rest of Great Britain .
K4. The selection of Helpers shall be made from the 'A' grade Helpers list following the helper licensing event . In certain circumstances one foreign ‘A' grade helper may be used.
K5. The selection of Tracklayers shall be made by the GSDL-WDG Committee from the GSDL-WDG ‘'A' grade Tracklayers list.
K6. The GSDL-WDG Championships shall be restricted to 20 dogs; preference shall be given to dogs in the following order:
• The previous year's winner, if entered.
• The top five (5) qualified German Shepherd Dogs belonging to GSDL WDG Members from each of the GSDL-WDG's WUSV Qualification trials in the same season.
• The highest average scoring dogs from the previous 12 months. This average shall be based on two (2) qualifying scores at SchH3 level from GSDL- WDG trials (only one on home ground ), one of which must have been judged by a GSDL- WDG SV recognized judge or have been obtained at the Qualifiers or the last GSDL-WDG Championship trial.
• The highest scoring dogs which have only qualified at SchH3 level in one (1) GSDL-WDG trial in the previous 12 months.
• The highest scoring dogs which have only qualified at SchH3 level in one (1) internationally recognized trial in the previous 12 months.
K6b. There shall be three (3) reserves included in the catalogues, in the event of any withdrawals the reserve(s) will be given the opportunity to compete in order of merit.
K7. In the event of a tie, the dog with the highest points score in Phase ‘C' shall take precedence. Should there still be a tie, the highest points score in Phase ‘B' shall prevail.
K8. Only GSDL WDG members who have been resident in Great Britain or Ireland for at least 6 months shall be eligible for the title NATIONAL CHAMPION. The title shall pass to the next dog in line in the event the winner is ineligible.
K9. Imported qualified dogs must have competed and qualified at two (2) trials at SchH3 level, with the same handler before becoming eligible for entry.
K10. Dogs with a change of handler must have competed and qualified with the current handler at one (1) GSDL-WDG trial at SchH3 level, before becoming eligible for entry.
L. WUSV / FCI World Championships
L1. The GSDL-WDG committee will discuss changes to the qualification criteria for the WUSV World Championships and the FCI World Championships and publish them on the GSDL-WDG website in November of the year preceding the competition (e.g. November 2008 for the WUSV Championships in 2009). The qualifying criteria shall be effective upon publication.
Selection Trial Management Procedures and Team Selection Criteria:
L2. Handlers must be fully paid up members of the GSDL-WDG at least four (4) months before the time of entry and either be a British citizen or have resided and paid taxes in Great Britain for a minimum of three years to be eligible for entrance into the GSDL-WDG's WUSV / FCI Team.
L3. Only GSDL-WDG members handling pedigree German Shepherd Dogs registered with The Kennel Club and tattooed or micro chipped shall be eligible to enter the Qualification Trials for a place on the GSDL-WDG's WUSV Team.
L4. The GSDL's FCI Team Selection will only be open to those breeds recognised by the FCI as suitable for the sport and the dog must be registered with the appropriate country or breed associations (See the FCI Website for a list of recognised breeds) and tattooed or micro chipped.
L5. The GSDL All-Breeds Championship will be open to ALL breeds.
L6. Imported, qualified dogs must have competed and qualified at two (2) GSDL-WDG trials at SchH3 level, with the current handler before becoming eligible for entry.
L7. As far as is possible, GSDL-WDG WUSV Team Qualification Trials must be held on a neutral, full size field, a stadium is to be preferred.
• Priority will be given to clubs that have access to a stadium with a full sized field.
• In the event of a Qualification trial being held on a club ground, the judge will be selected by the GSDL-WDG Committee.
L8. The selection of the judge shall be the responsibility of the host club (see L7 for exceptions). However the judge must be a SV recognized judge and the GSDL-WDG Committee have final approval. The Judge must be made aware, that it is a qualifying event for the selection of a World Championship team and asked to judge accordingly.
L9. Helpers will be allocated from the 'A' grade list following the helper licensing event and Tracklayers must be selected from the GSDL-WDG Grade ‘A' list . Suitably licensed Helpers / tracklayers from another WUSV Organisation may be used.
L10. The GSDL-WDG's WUSV / FCI Team Captain or Vice - Captain (alternate years) will be approved by the GSDL-WDG Committee.
L11. Non GSDL-WDG members / handlers can enter provided that there are less than twenty GSDL-WDG members' dogs meeting the criteria in competing for a place in the British WUSV / FCI Teams. The entry fee for non GSDL-WDG handlers will be 50% more than the advertised entry fee. The entry criteria will be highest single qualification score from the previous January at any internationally recognized trial.
WUSV World Championships
L12. There will be two (2) GSDL-WDG WUSV Team Qualification Trials held each year.
L13 . Wherever possible, they should be held one in the North and one in the South
L14. Each of the two GSDL-WDG WUSV Qualification Trials shall be restricted to qualified Schutzhund 3 Dogs. Preference will be given to the twenty dogs with the highest single score obtained at:
• GSDL-WDG events judged by GSDL-WDG SV recognized Judges since 1st January of the previous year or the previous year's Qualifiers / Nationals .
Followed by:
• Scores obtained at internationally recognized events since 1st January of the previous year. The competitor must send proof in the form of a photocopy of the scorebook to the National Co-ordinator if they wish to be included on the list with a non GSDL-WDG score.
In the event of a trial being oversubscribed a 2nd judge can be used. There shall be three (3) reserves included in the catalogues, in the event of any withdrawals the reserve(s) will be given the opportunity to compete in order of merit.
L15. The top 5 (German Shepherd) handlers from each of the two (2) GSDL-WDG WUSV qualifying trials will go forward to the GSDL/ BAGSD Joint WUSV Selection trial.
• In the event of any dogs finishing in the top 5 in both trials, the next place will go to the dog from either trial which finished in 6th place with the highest score, followed by the dog in 6th place with the lowest score, then 7th place highest score etc until up to 10 dogs have been found.
• If there are more than 10 places available to GSDL dogs in the GSDL/BAGSD Joint WUSV Selection trial, the extra available places will be offered following the same principle as above.
• In the event of a tie, the dog with the highest points score in Phase ‘C' shall take precedence. Should there still be a tie, the highest points score in Phase ‘B' shall prevail.
• Only dogs that have obtained a qualifying score in at least one of the GSDL-WDG qualification trials will be offered a place in the GSDL/BAGSD Joint WUSV selection trial.
FCI World Championships
L18. There will be one (1) FCI Qualification trial held each year, this trial may be integrated with the All Breeds Championships and / or one of the WUSV Selection trials.
L19. The FCI Qualification Trial shall be restricted to qualified Schutzhund 3 Dogs. Preference will be given to the twenty dogs with the highest single score obtained at:
• GSDL-WDG events judged by GSDL-WDG SV recognized Judges since 1st January of the previous year or the previous year's Qualifiers / Nationals .
Followed by:
• Scores obtained at internationally recognized events since 1st January of the previous year. The competitor must send proof in the form of a photocopy of the scorebook to the National Co-ordinator if they wish to be included on the list with a non GSDL-WDG score.
In the event of a trial being oversubscribed a 2nd judge can be used. There shall be three (3) reserves included in the catalogues, in the event of any withdrawals the reserve(s) will be given the opportunity to compete in order of merit.
L20. The top two (2) or three (3) handlers (alternate years, in accordance with the current GSDL/BAGSD/Kennel Club agreement) shall qualify for the GSDL places on FCI world championship team.
• Only dogs that have obtained a qualifying score will be offered a place on the FCI Team.
M. The GSDL All-Breed Championship Trial Management
M1. The Trial will whenever possible be held in May each year and may be integrated with the WUSV / FCI team selection.
M2. The selection of the Judge shall be the responsibility of the GSDL-WDG. Preference should be given to a GSDL-WDG Judge but should one not be available, a foreign judge from an acknowledged working dog organisation may be invited. The judge must be made aware that it is a qualifying event for the selection of the GSDL-WDG's FCI World Championship Team and asked to judge accordingly.
M3. Helpers and Tracklayers must be selected from the GSDL-WDG Grade ‘A' lists or be suitably licensed from another WUSV Organization.
M4. The Trial shall be restricted to qualified Schutzhund 3 Dogs. In the event of the event being oversubscribed a 2nd GSDL-WDG judge should be used, otherwise the twenty dogs with the highest single score obtained at
• GSDL-WDG events judged by GSDL-WDG SV recognized Judges since 1st January of the previous year or the previous year's Qualifiers / Nationals .
Followed by:
• Scores obtained at internationally recognized events since 1st January of the previous year. The competitor must send proof in the form of a photocopy of the scorebook to the National Co-ordinator if they wish to be included on the list with a non GSDL-WDG score.

M5. Imported qualified dogs must have competed and qualified at two (2) trials at SchH3 level, with the same handler before becoming eligible for entry.
M6. Only dogs registered with The appropriate country or breed associations are eligible for entry.
M7. Handlers must be fully paid up members of a GSDL-WDG at time of entry.
M8. Only GSDL WDG members who have been resident in Great Britain or Ireland for at least 6 months shall be eligible for the title NATIONAL ALL BREEDS CHAMPION. The title shall pass to the next dog in line in the event the winner is ineligible.
M9. Foreign handlers may enter provided that there are less than twenty GSDL-WDG members meeting the entry criteria.
N. WUSV Universal Sieger
N1. Handlers must be fully paid up members of the GSDL-WDG before the time of entry and either be a British citizen or have resided and paid taxes in Great Britain for a minimum of three years to be eligible.
N2. Only GSDL-WDG members handling pedigree German Shepherd Dogs registered with The Kennel Club and tattooed or micro chipped shall be eligible for a place on the GSDL-WDG's Universal Sieger Team.
N3. All dogs wishing to participate in the Universal Sieger must fulfil all the entry requirements posted by the hosting country.
N4. The Dog/handler team must have qualified SchH3 at one (1) GSDL-WDG event judged by a GSDL-WDG SV recognized Judge since 1st January of the previous year, the current years qualifiers or the previous year's Qualifiers / Nationals .
N5. If more dogs than there are available spaces wish to participate, preference will be given to the dogs with the highest point score from the above mentioned trials.
P. Revenue.
P1. The GSDL-WDG Membership Fee should be reviewed annually. The GSDL-WDG Membership Fee will become the property and funds of the GSDL-WDG.
Q. Winding Up
Q1. The procedure for winding up the GSDL-WDG or a GSDL-WDG Branch Club shall be by way of a properly convened Special General Meeting.
Q2. If the GSDL-WDG or any of its Branch Clubs cease to exist, any property or profits of the GSDL-WDG or Branch Club concerned shall be dealt with or disposed of as the members attending the Special General Meeting convened specifically for that purpose think fit.
R. ACCOUNTING.
R1. An account shall be opened in the name of the Club at such a bank as the GSDL-WDG Treasurer or GSDL-WDG Branch Club Treasurer may decide and only the signatures of any two of its GSDL-WDG Committee or GSDL-WDG Branch Club officers shall operate such accounts. Accounts and records shall be kept by each Treasurer and shall be made available for inspection annually or at every official meeting.
R2. The Treasurer of the GSDL-WDG Committee shall be responsible for producing an Annual Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet in respect of the GSDL-WDG at the Annual General Meeting.
S. DISCIPLINE
S1. Any member who shall be suspended by the GSDL, WUSV, Kennel Club and / or FCI shall ipso facto cease to be a member of the GSDL-WDG.
S2. Disciplinary measures will be as per the Disciplinary Code of Conduct
T. INSURANCE
T1. A public liability insurance, will be maintained at all times.
