New Club in 'White Cliffs Country'!
Not before time, the South East corner of the country finally has it's own club. Appropriately named 'The White Cliffs Sports Dog Club' it
will be of no surprise to learn, judging by its namesake, that it is in the Dover area. Here in the South East there was a real need for a Sports
Dog club and so, last year a small group of us got together and decided to share the knowledge and skills we'd gained along the way.
We are a small friendly all working breeds club whose members have a broad range of experience; some having trained and competed nationally as
well as in Europe, whilst others are just starting out. We are happy to invite and encourage people of all levels of experience.
The clubs members pride themselves in working their dogs in their natural drives in a safe and friendly environment.
We've been working hard to encourage new members to our ranks and to develop our young members, the future of the sport. One of our
young members is currently training as a helper and has had the privilege of training with Denis Steurs.
Since the formation of the club, the pace of life has been hectic. In the space of the last few months leading up to the end of last year,
we affiliated our club to the GSDL, qualified the first dog under our membership and launched our own website. This year also plans to be a
big year in our calendar as we intend to host our first seminar in April, licence our track layers and helpers and host our first club trial.
Please look us up if you're in our neighbourhood, you'll be made feel very welcome. You can visit our website at www.twcsportsdog.co.uk for
details of our seminar in April and our inaugural trial in September.
